First Crush

The grape harvest is just beginning. The heady fragrance of ripe grapes permeates the air. The vineyards are heavy with the fullness of the bounteous crop in mid-September. The warm air wraps itself around everything and everyone. As the sun sets over the mountain range separating Napa Valley from Sonoma Valley, the last rays pierce the valley, highlighting the vineyards in an ethereal glow. This location is the Ehlers Estate Vineyards, just below Calistoga in the Napa Valley. One is reminded of times long past when fall meant new beginnings with the boundless possibilities of new friends and new experiences.
